The Ryecroft Angels origionally started in July 1982 and were known as a marching band. They were run by Mrs Jean Whitelem & Mrs Margerat Thackery. at its peak the troupe had over 80 members with five sections, marching, band, mace, baton and pom. after many years of success the troupe sadly dispanded in the early ninties.
In November 2003 Sam and Anne-Marie decided to revive the Ryecroft Angels. The following year we entered our first competition with the Yorkshire Carnival Association. We won a few medals, made lots of new friends and with each competition started to improve. In 2007 we had our best ever year, winning lots of trophies and winning the Y.C.A Dance Twirl Troupe of the Year at the Y.C.A Universal Championships that is held in Bridlington every year.
As well as entering competitions we also take part in local events, Gala's, street parades, etc.
We train on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4.30-7.30 at Havercroft & Ryhill Sports Centre. If you would like to join our troupe please feel free to come along to one of our training times. everyone is welcome whether you are experienced or not.
